Police: Woman Sets Fire to Apartment After Argument

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police arrested a Christina Vasquez, 30, after she allegedly set a La Branch Dr. apartment on fire right after and argument with a man.

A neighbor spotted smoke coming from the kitchen of the apartment and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the stove that had spread to nearby walls.

Neighbors told police Vasquez could be heard yelling and screaming as she trashed her own apartment prior to the fire. A neighbor claims Vasquez also broke into her apartment and made some threats.

Resident Jody Alaniz told us, "She come in my house threatening me. Telling me she's gonna get her brother to kill me and she's gonna beat me up and I was a b----- and my boyfriend that he was snitch and she was gonna get her brother to f--- him up."

She added, "I'm not afraid. I may be an old lady but I know damn well how to kick your ass."

Officers arrested Vasquez on a charge of arson and for an outstanding public intoxication warrant.
