CORPUS CHRISTI - Monday night, Charles Wheeler shared his concerns with us on how his son, Sam would react to the damage done to his car.

And Tuesday those predictions would prove true, when Sam ran into the teen he claims damaged his car, because he owes him 50 dollars.

We're told the two bumped into each other on the road. That's when Sam Wheeler called the police and the two exchanged words in the Nile Market parking lot.

Police separated the two and after a consented search of Kyle's car, released the teen. A decision that did not sit well with Sam Wheeler.

Officer Paulo Hernandez with the CCPD told us, "He's pretty upset because apparently to him, if something happened a week ago, he wants us to do it now, when we see him and that's not the way it works."

And without hard evidence, police say there's little they can do until the proper charges have been filed and signed.

"According to him he's already made reports, so they're in the process of it. But there's been no proof of him actually doing it," said officer Hernandez.

In the end, the two would leave in separate directions and for now, no violence would ensue.

Though it would seem that Charles Wheeler will have to remain vigilant in protecting his home and family from the consequences of this ongoing dispute.
