CORPUS CHRISTI - Police are searching the area of North Padre Island after an 11-year-old girl was dropped off shortly after she was abducted.
The girl was riding her bicycle around 7:00 p.m. in a neighborhood along Braesvalley Drive and Shadowbend Drive, which is near Everhart and Saratoga.
A man driving a maroon SUV came up to her as another male grabbed her and dragged her inside before taking off.
About an hour later, while police were searching the neighborhood, they were notified that the girl was found safe on North Padre Island. She was picked up and taken to a hospital to be checked out.
The passenger in the vehicle is described as a white male in his 20's. There is no description for the driver.
Police were out in force searching Padre Island using several descriptions of a possible vehicle. We overheard officers discussing either a red van or Suburban, mid 1990's model, with a faded hood and wood paneling.
