The police department has also posted a surveillance video of the robbery attempt on it's website, in the hope that someone will recognize the suspect.
A clerk inside Family Dollar could have lost her life. Police say the suspect walked up to the counter and paid for several items, but as soon as the register opened he pulled a gun. The cashier and another clerk refused to give him the money, thats when the suspect tried to shoot the second clerk, but luckily the gun didn't go off
In the surveillance video, you can see the man approach counter, but the clerk just shuts the register and walks away giving him nothing. Police say when his gun didn't go off, he ran out of the store. Police are looking for a white male in his early 20's about five-foot-seven, and180 pounds. Anyone with information is encourage to call Crime Stoppers at 888-tips.
We are trying to make contact with the two clerks in the store, right now we do know they still work at the store.
