LUBBOCK - Texas Tech police are investigating the discovery in a dormitory room of what they say are materials necessary to produce methamphetamine.
Texas Tech spokesman Chris Cook says the setup wasn't operational and not a threat to other students. Nevertheless, campus police brought in the meth lab unit of the Texas Department of Public Safety to handle the hazardous chemicals and other materials.
Cook said the student living in the room hasn't been there for several days. No charges have been filed and no identities have been released.
