CORPUS CHRISTI - More than 30-thousand dollars worth of prescription medication was stolen from a local pharmacy.
The shelves at Port Avenue Drug in the 900 block of South Port are nearly empty after a couple of crooks broke-in to the store early Wednesday morning.
The owner says about 300 pill bottles were taken -- containing everything from sleeping aids, to anti-anxiety medication.. to blood pressure medication.
The owner says the pharmacy has been in business for more than 50 years and this is the first time something like this has happened.
