CORPUS CHRISTI - Police will pass out flyers near McArdle Road from 5-7 p.m. this evening hoping to gather more leads on a hit and run accident that killed 24-year-old Kimberly Encinia.
On February 11, 2012, Encinia was walking to the Net Church when she was hit by a light colored Nissan Xterra on the 9300 block McArdle Road.
Several officers along with Encinia's mother will be passing out flyers along McArdle, Nile Drive, Rodd Field Road and Ennis Joslin. According to Commander John Houston, investigators believe there is a high possibility that the driver who hit Encinia lives in the area.
Commander Houston also says they could be closer to solving the case. He says the police department is re-evaluating evidence found at the scene of the accident.
That evidence has been sent off to a lab in the Rio Grande Valley that now has the technology that can determine the make and model of the vehicle that hit Encinia. He says this type of technology wasn't available a year ago.
