Police Issue Warning About Fake Company Representative

CORPUS CHRISTI - The police department is issuing a warning to be careful if someone claiming they're with AEP comes knocking at your door.

According to police, a 47-year old woman said she found a man trying to get into her home on Burkshire yesterday afternoon, that's near King High School.

When she confronted him, he claimed he was an employee with AEP and left. Police say he gave a different story when they caught up with him. He claimed he works in sales for Reliant Energy.

Both companies say he doesn't work for them. Police did not arrest the man.

He's described as a 39 year old black male, 5'8" tall, weighing 170 pounds. When he was last seen he was wearing a black jersey and blue jeans.

Police want to remind you that all door to door sales persons must have a city permit if they are doing door to door sales.
