CORPUS CHRISTI - Investigators with the Corpus Christi Police Department are working on figuring out what lead up to a crash that killed the passenger in a car that ran from police Saturday night.
Officials say the driver of a Ford Focus was seen driving recklessly along Interstate 37. An officer tried to pull him over, but 18-year-old Gilbert Rojas reportedly took off.
The Focus was involved in a t-bone crash with a Dodge Intrepid at the intersection of Port and Minton Street a short time later.
The female passenger in the Focus died of her injuries. The Medical Examiner says she's been identified, but the next of kin has not been notified yet.
Rojas is charged with causing someone's death while evading an officer.
Officers also arrested the driver of the other car, 27-year-old Steven Stringfellow, for being in a stolen vehicle.
