Police Identify Sunrise Mall Murder Suspect

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police have identified 39-year-old George Viera as the man they say killed another man at Sunrise Mall this morning. He was arrested for Murder, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, and Possession of Drug paraphernalia.

Officers raced out to Sunrise Mall around 11 AM after security guards found the body of a man inside the mall bathroom.

An ambulance rushed to the scene but responders pronounced the man dead. Police say the man was stabbed several times on his upper body.

When officers arrived, witnesses were able to give them a detailed description of the suspect. Police say evidence indicates Viera shed his clothes and washed up inside the men's bathroom at Asian Buffet.

Police eventually caught up with Viera near J.C. Penny; They say he had blood on his clothes and was carrying a knife.
