WACO - For the fourth time in less than a year tragedy has struck Bell County as another law enforcement officer has died while on the job.

On Thursday, the Little River Academy Police Chief Lee Dixon was shot and killed by a man at a home while following up on a report.

Chief Dixon had been back on the job about a month when he was shot down at a home at West Main and Allison Street.

It was just after five when Dixon came to the house after taking a report earlier in the day of an altercation.

Deputies said they took a suspect into custody at the scene, the Little River Academy Mayor confirmed the suspect is David Reisner.

Sadly this is the fourth law enforcement officer in Bell County to lose his life on the job in less than a year.

A judge pronounced Dixon dead at the scene and has ordered an autopsy.
