Police Chase Ends With Crash

CORPUS CHRISTI - The search for a carjacking suspect lead all the way to Corpus Christi this morning as state troopers chased the man down Interstate 37.

Police say the suspect used a gun to threaten three women before taking their car this morning. Authorities spotted the car headed south near Three Rivers and started a pursuit.

That all came to an end when a DPS trooper blocked his way and the two cars collided at a rest stop between Mathis and Corpus Christi.

The trooper was taken to the hospital with a head injury, but he's expected to be okay.

Edward Bentley is facing numerous charges for the carjacking, chase, and injuries to the trooper.
