CORPUS CHRISTI - The police and Fire Department are reminding folks that with dry conditions, they'll be on the lookout for fireworks violations this New Year's Eve. They say they'll be keeping on eye on the fireworks stands to catch people who try to sneak fireworks into town. If you're caught your fireworks will be confiscated plus you could face up to a $2,000 fine.

Ernesto Solis, Assistant Chief at Gregory Fire Department said, "If you're in an area where you're popping firework, make sure if there's dry grass. Stay away from it. If so, try to do it on the road. Have some kind of water bucket or something beside you in case something does ignite."
