Playing for the Team - Robstown Baseball Wants to Build on Picker Tradition

ROBSTOWN - Friday night marks the beginning of the playoffs for the Robstown Baseball Team who had a bye during the Bi-District Round. The Pickers now face Rio Hondo in a winner take all one-game affair.

"That's what's Robstown is known for here - baseball. So we should be okay going into Friday," said Infielder Michael De Los Santos.

The team's motto is I 3, it means they believe in themselves and their team. They play for one another and so far it's paid off.

"Great feeling hearing the crowd roar for you Robstown is known for baseball so we need to keep bringing those wins home for this town and this team," said Catcher Efrain Gonzalez.

The District Champions have tons of confidence and hope to make a brand new statement to the entire state this playoff run.

"Robstown has been really good since like 91-92 we've been really good. Just hoping to keep the tradition going and get back to the state tourney.," said Shortstop Brandon Garza.
