CORPUS CHRISTI - The man arrested for robberies at four corner pharmacies, a taxi driver, and a home invasion earlier this year is going to prison for up to eight years. Leonel Lozano, 36, was expected to go on trial this week, but his attorney agreed to a plea agreement instead.
Lozano plead guilty to three felony charges of aggravated robbery and one home burglary.
Police arrested Lozano following robberies at two CVS stores and two Walgreens stores within one week in March 2013. In each case, the robber pulled out a knife and threatened the clerks.
Surveillance video released by the Corpus Christi Police Department showed the suspect wearing a ball cap with 'Callaway' in white letters, sunglasses, and carrying a backpack. In one robbery, the man wore some bright red sneakers.
No one was injured in any of the robberies.
In the middle of the crime spree police did arrest Lozano for an alleged shoplifting incident at a store in Walmart, but he was let go because there was no link to the pharmacy robberies at the time.
