Pet Owners Lining Up To Visit New PAAC Clinic

CORPUS CHRISTI - People Assisting Animal, the group known as PAAC, had a free event both to raise awareness about their new clinic and to help the pets in our community.

The PAAC Clinic offered twenty-five free rabies shots and seventy-five zeuters, which is a chemical sterilization for male dogs. With lines wrapping around the parking lot and going down the street, they passed that limit and had to keep going.

"The lines have been overwhelmingly crazy," said PAAC President Cheryl Martinez. "We are so glad to community came out. We apologize for the heat, we honestly did not know there would be this many people, but we do know now what to plan for in the future."

In order to see even a slight decrease in pet overpopulation here in the Coastal Bend, Martinez said at least 75,000 more animals need to be spayed and neutered.

Because of that, she said every donation to PAAC, whether time or money, is a donation that is needed.

"Whatever we can do to start to help the community to get these animals sterilized," said Martinez."To help with the pet overpopulation."

PAAC will be holding an adoption event and BBQ next Saturday, and you can find the info on that here.
