CORPUS CHRISTI - People making "saving lives" a New Year's resolution lined up to donate blood at the annual "Rock and Roll up your Sleeve" event. During the holiday season, there's usually a decline in blood donations so this day long event will help to replenish the supply. It took place at Cavender's Boot City on SPID.
Corpus Christi Mayor Nelda Martinez joined in to help out and donate the gift of life.
"This is all about saving lives and knowing that this is a very noble cause that the community is coming out for and I'm so proud of all the people that have come out to give blood," Martinez said.
