People Retreat to Buc Days

CORPUS CHRISTI - It may have been hot outside, but that didn't stop people from coming out to the Buc Days carnival.

Folks from all walks of life came out today, including Mary Reeves who is rewarding her peewee kickball team to a day at the carnival.

"Our girls are doing excellent this year. We're tied for second in our league. So we decided to bring them out and show them a good time. They deserve it. They're doing really well, and they're working hard for that, said Reeves.

Buc Days is a retreat for many people, even from out of town. Zachary Pettis recently came back from Houston, and he says it's nice to be back in Corpus Christi, away from all the traffic, and to just let loose.

"You know, free your mind. Just have a little fun, act like you know, you're a kid again," said Pettis.

And speaking of kids, many of them overcame their fears today.

"It's super fun. I got on the Ferris Wheel. At first I was scared, but it was fun. Once you get to the top, it's fun, said eight-year-old Mario Rincon.
