CORPUS CHRISTI - An unidentified man was killed Thursday morning as he walked along some railroad tracks.

The engineer of the train told police that just before noon he was traveling on the tracks along the 4800 block of Sharpsburg road when he spotted a man on the tracks.

The engineer says he sounded his horn but the man continued walking on the tracks.

The train's brakes were applied but it couldn't stop in time.

The man was hit and died at the scene.
