CORPUS CHRISTI -- A lot of excitement today at the Gulf Coast Humane Society for Pawfest 2012.
The weenie dog race was just as popular the second year as the first.
The pups scurried to the finish line to make their moms and dads proud.
Vendors of all kinds also set up shop outside the Humane Society.
Scruff McGruff the Crime Dog was also around to fingerprint children.
And, everyone got the chance to meet some furry new faces -- up for adoption -- while they walked around.
All the money raised today will benefit the animals at the shelter.
Cody Rice, of the Gulf Coast Humane Society, said, "We do have some adoptions going out today and we're thankful for that too. We've got 500 animals in our building that are looking for good loving homes. So, the more we can adopt the more we can save."
