Paternity Test Ordered in Abused Baby Case

CORPUS CHRISTI - A two month old baby who was found with broken bones this summer will remain in foster care for a little while longer until the court's figure out who fathered the child.

In August, 34-year-old Nathan Rittgers and 28-year-old Glenna Guardado were arrested after they took baby Nathan baby to the hospital with a broken leg and arm.

Rittgers' aunt and uncle were asking to care for the baby and passed a home study.

During yesterday's hearing, Rittgers said he wasn't sure if the baby was his and asked for a paternity test.

A judge approved his request and ordered that the baby remain in foster care.

Meanwhile, Rittgers and Guardado remain in the Nueces County Jail on charges of injury to a child.
