CORPUS CHRISTI - A man is facing charges after a late-night shooting that put a woman in the hospital.
Police said the man was riding in the passenger seat with a woman on Carroll Lane when he suddenly shot her multiple times, jumped out of the truck, and then took off on foot.
"We have witnesses who saw the vehicle driving erratically," said CCPD Lt. James Gray. "Then saw the vehicle stop, and heard shots."
The 34-year-old woman is currently in Memorial Hospital. Although she has multiple gun wounds, polices said her injuries are not life threatening.
After the shooting, police claim the man stole a car from a nearby apartment, rammed through the apartment complex gate, and sped off. He then abandoned that car and ran to his mother's apartment around the corner. Police found him there and arrested him.
The 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
