CORPUS CHRISTI -- A 10-K race took place downtown this morning to bring light to the subject of organ, tissue, blood and bone marrow donation.

People paid $35 to run or walk in the Organ Donor Dash that began at Brewster Street Icehouse.

Money from the event goes to organ donation education and the Coastal Bend Transplant Support Group.

Participant Erin Patton said, 'It's nice to be able to do a race and know the money is going to something important instead of just like a business, you know. It's awareness for the community, so that's good."
