CORPUS CHRISTI- Beach trash has become a big problem for the Packery Channel in Corpus Christi.
Stacy Garrett, a resident living in the area says she is tired of seeing her coastline saturated in trash and debris. For the last two years this area of the Packery Channel has become polluted with beer cans, plastic bags, decomposed fish, and other miscellaneous junk.
Beachgoers here say they have tried to contact the city, requesting trash cans to be placed on the beach, or have a clean up crew come, but they have had no luck reaching the right person to get this problem fixed.
Voters approved the bond measure about ten years ago to clean up this area. It was supposed to fund beach improvements at the Packery Channels, such as installing trash cans, restroom and maintaining the beach. Many of those things have still not been done according to many beachgoers.
