Overnight Home Invasion Puts Woman In The Hospital

CORPUS CHRISTI - Three people are in police custody after an early morning robbery.

Police said the robbers kicked in the door of an empty duplex unit in the 4800 block of Dodd Street around 1:15 a.m.

They moved onto another unit with a man and woman inside. The two were assaulted by the intruders during the invasion. The woman was taken to the hospital with some facial injuries.

As officers arrived at the scene, one of the burglars went back because he had dropped something that was possibly taken from one of the homes.

Police arrested that man and the woman who was driving the getaway car.

A gun was found in the getaway car and is believed to have been used in the robbery.

A third suspect was also found a few blocks away.

All of the suspects could face aggravated robbery charges. Police say the woman driving the car could also be charged with child endangerment after they found a young child home alone while the suspects were at the robbery.
