CORPUS CHRISTI -- Family and friends of Brian Barrera -- the motorcyclist who passed away after a tragic accident on Rodd Field this past Wednesday -- gathered to honor his memory today.
It was an emotional ceremony outside of Spohn Memorial today.
Brian's family said he was being kept alive so that his organs could be harvested
to help others.
And today, they had to make the toughest decision ever.
Brian's organs are being donated to others in need and today tons of people
who knew Brian showed up to take part in the flag ceremony honoring him.
Brian was a member of the Rollerz Only Motorcycle Club and was an avid
biker.
Other bikers pleaded with the crowd to ride safe and when driving a car keep a close lookout for motorcyclists so accidents like the one that took Brian's life
don't happen.
His family and friends say they're just happy he can help save other lives.
Lupita Velaquez Ray, his cousin, said, "Who ever is going to benefit from this, I'm hoping a little bit of Brian is in that heart. A little bit of Brian will be with them and they're going to be a better person."
