Officer Injured in Dramatic Carjacking Chase

COLORADO (NBC News) - A 4-year-old Colorado boy is safe following a terrifying ordeal that began with a carjacking in Longmont, Colorado Wednesday morning.

It began when a man took an SUV left running in the parking lot of a gas station. The boy had been left in the backseat while his mother went in to pay.

While driving the second vehicle the driver struck and seriously injured a Colorado State Trooper on the side of the Interstate, but kept going.
