CORPUS CHRISTI - An off-duty police officer tending to his garden at his Flour Bluff home detained a man accused of breaking into his neighbor's recreational vehicle Tuesday morning.

According to police, 22-year-old Gordon Morris was seen walking in the neighbor's driveway with a hatchet, along with other items. The officer convinced Morris to put the stuff down as on-duty officers were called.

The off-duty officer was reportedly involved in a struggle with Morris. Morris is now charged with felony burglary, use of criminal instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.
