CORPUS CHRISTI - A westside school says after-school traffic is a nightmare, and dangerous for their students.
Oak Park Elementary's Principal, Kellye Loving, wants the city to make two streets, Elmore and Macleod, one-way to make traffic flow safer.
Drivers can either turn left or right onto those streets, and when traffic gets heavy after school, drivers often fight each other over right of way.
Loving wants the city's Transportation Advisory Committee to make the streets one direction to prevent some of the aggressive driving, and make it safer for students.
"You see parents upset. They're mad at each other because they're trying to turn in and somebody is trying to get out and it just becomes a mess," she says.
We're told this item will likely be discussed by the Transportation Advisory Committee in the next month or two.
The school says, in the meantime, they've ordered signs asking cars to only turn right onto those streets.
