LOS ANGELES - The woman whose photo became the face of Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend is speaking out for the first time.
23-year-old Diane O'Meara says a photo of her was pulled from her Facebook page and used as the fictitious Lennay Kekua, the alleged girlfriend of Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o.
In an interview with NBC's Miguel Almaguer, the LA marketing executive said until last week, she didn't even know who Manti Te'o was.
"I've never met Manti Te'o in my entire life. I've never spoken with him. I've never exchanged words, tweets," said O'Meara.
She says former high school classmate Rohaiah Tuiasosopo, the alleged perpetrator of the hoax, not only confessed to stealing her Facebook photos, but also apologized for using the image in the prank.
"The past five years he has literally been stalking my Facebook and stealing my photos," O'Meara told NBC.
Tuiasosopo hasn't responded to multiple calls for comment from NBC News.
Te'o meanwhile insist he was not aware of the prank and like O'meara claims he is a victim of the prank.
