CORPUS CHRISTI - A special ceremony for government employees was held today at the Nueces County Courthouse.
County employees sold popcorn and pickles last month as a fundraiser for observances of National County Government month observed in April.
County Judge Loyd Neal says employees raised $2,700 this time around. The money was donated to 5 different agencies that help abused and neglected children.
"What the money is used for is to buy things that they could not normally buy in their budget or to provide things that they might use in dealing with children or dealing with the parents or other things that would be very helpful, like diapers," said Judge Neal.
