November is National Adoption Month, and the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services is using the "Why Not Me" campaign to promote awareness.
A featured part of the campaign is the 9th Annual "Heart Gallery" of South Texas, featuring pictures and biographies of 30 children who are hoping to be adopted. The gallery is hosted by Texas A&M University Corpus Christi at the Garcia Arts Center, and showcases just a few of the 341 kids who need a permanent home in South Texas.
For more information on adoption, or to see some of the pictures of children looking for a family, visit adoptchildren.org.
There will also be an Adoption Information Meeting on December 9th at 6:00 PM at the Owen Hopkins Library (3202 McKinzie Road). Anyone who may be considering adoption is invited to attend.
