New Subdivision Under Development on Greenwood Drive

CORPUS CHRISTI - Some brand new homes are going up along Greenwood Drive. Evergreen Estates is expected to one day be a subdivision with 125 new homes in a part of town where people can stay close to their roots.
Developer Patricia Noyola says her very first home buyer in this new subdivision will soon be close to family and in a brand new home. The buyer is a single mom with two kids who is purchasing her first home.
"This side of town offers a very family oriented environment, the majority of the people that want to live here, its because they grew up here and their families are here their moms their dads, their kids have grown up on this side of town and go to school here," explains Noyola.
Noyola says there's a niche for new homes near older neighborhoods, and she decided to fill it about a year ago. Most new home construction in Corpus Christi is going on in the south side - and she wanted to offer another option.
"There are a lot of people who want to avoid all the heavy congestion on the southside and this is a very centralized location," says Noyola.
Each home in the planned community will offer a custom home-building experience.
Right now there are 5 homes going up in the subdivision, the plan is to have 45 homes up within the next year. You can reserve a lot out here for as little as $250.
"We've also partnered up with the City of Corpus Christi to offer the down payment assistance grant programs available to people who do qualify," says Noyola.
Those grants give home buyers a $20,000 down payment, and when you qualify for that, the developer pays the closing costs.
