NEW YORK (AP) - Michael Jackson really wanted the song "Xscape" to be heard.
Producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins says they started work on that song in 1999, then again in 2003. Jerkins says they never stopped working on that song.
He says Jackson specifically said to him, "It has to see the light of day one day." Jerkins says Jackson told him in 2008 or 2009 that he was ready to do another album and he should start working on ideas, but then Jackson died.
The song is the title track on Jackson's new album, which comes out May 13.
