Another fire this afternoon in Aransas Pass, however, wasn't a controlled burn. A fire chief said this brush fire on 9th Street got pretty close to some homes in the area.
Several fire crews with brush trucks were called out to put out the blaze.
It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to grab control of the one-acre fire. Although the fire chief wasn't sure how it started, some witnesses said they saw kids playing in that area right before the fire.
