CORPUS CHRISTI - Monday marks the begin of National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
A special ceremony was held in the main lobby at the Nueces County Courthouse.
16 different agencies that dedicated to helping victims of all crimes participated in the event.
There are wreaths for each organization and a pair of shoes to represent that victims come from all walks of life.
Vilma Garcia whose daughter was murdered said, "I don't look forward to it, because of everyone that has lost someone in a crime. I feel like people can remember her at times like this. Her picture has been put up and she has not be forgotten."
This is the 16th Annual Crime Victims' Week which will continue through Friday.
