Mystery Surrounding Dead Pelicans

A mystery has been brewing in the waters underneath the Peoples Street T-Head...over the last 6 weeks,
8 pelicans have washed up dead underneath the Harrison's Landing docks.

Rocky Ramon, a waiter at The Tavern, says he has had to, personally deal with the wet carcasses himself, using a net to pull them out of the water and dispose of them properly.

Ramon said they wanted to get them out of the way for sanitary purposes.

When it started to become a regular occurrence, he and his managers became concerned and called the Aquarium

The Aquarium did not return their calls, and they contacted Texas A&M Kingsville and Animal Control. No one seemed to want to help.

Ramon says staff and customers alike, love seeing the pelicans around the Marina and all they want... is to know why this is happening and how to stop it.

So far, it's still a mystery as to what may be killing these majestic animals, but now, the proper officials have been notified.
