ROCKPORT - The father of a Rockport woman found dead in her home yesterday says he's still coming to terms with the loss.
Police say, the victim, 20 year old Skye Harvey, appeared to be shot in the head when the found the body.
Police arrested her husband, 21 year old Andrew Harvey, in Nacogdoches County shortly after the body was found.
The couple were married just a couple months ago and had a 5 month old baby boy.
Police say it all started when Andrew Harvey showed up a relatives house in East Texas with their baby. He told those relatives something that made them concerned for Skye.
They called local relatives in Rockport, who called police.
Skye Harvey's father, Rene Saenz, says he's still in shock.
"I wouldn't want it to happen to anyone. It's a loss that anybody can do without, especially a parent," Saenz says.
As for her husband, the lead suspect.
"I'm just sad, and I pray for him. I don't have any anger towards him because that would be useless," Saenz says.
He added that now, the important thing is to focus on the baby.
For now, the baby is being cared for by relatives on Andrew Harvey's side of the family.
Eventually, Child Protective Services will determine where the baby will go.
Police are still waiting on autopsy results to confirm the cause of death.
