CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi Police Department says the medical examiner's initial findings indicate the woman found dead inside a home on Military Drive was killed with a gunshot wound to the head before the home was set on fire.
A man in the home was still alive as the house burned. Police say the woman did not die from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to Corpus Christi Fire Department investigator Peter Salazar officials fairly certain the man set the fire. At this point investigators have run out of people to interview about the case.
The case is being handled as a murder-suicide.
Firefighters made the discovery at the home where neighbors say 81-year-old Charles Delong III and 49-year-old Cheryl Harville lived with a third person.
Officials have not confirmed who died in the fire.
Fire officials said Thursday afternoon that evidence points to the fire being intentionally set.
