CORPUS CHRISTI - Yesterday's strong cold front barreled through the Coastal Bend early in the afternoon hours dropping temperatures some 19+ degrees within a one hour time frame from frontal passage. It also brought some very strong winds exceeding 40-45mph.
Today, cool and dry air will continue to filter into the region as the clouds begin to thin and clear out by this afternoon leading to plenty of sunshine across the area with highs only reaching the mid 70s and winds out of the north-northeast around 10-20mph with gusts around 25-30.
Tonight look for mainly clear skies and much lighter winds from the northeast around 4-8mph. This will allow for excellent radiational cooling to take place and allow temperatures to drop into the lower 50s to upper 40s. Pretty chilly for April standards!
Saturday looks fantastic with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the middle to upper 70s with light winds while Sunday will see an increase in temperatures, clouds, and winds with a highs back into the lower 80s.
Temperatures will continue warm for the start of the week before another front arrives around the Tuesday & Wednesday time frame and brings another opportunity for some rainfall as the front sweeps by. At this point, this front looks weaker than the one that passed yesterday.
Have a great weekend!
