CORPUS CHRISTI - Police say the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries when the driver of a pickup made a left turn in front of the rider at the intersection of Cimarron and Wooldridge this afternoon.

The Suzuki Colt sport bike left major damage to the truck as it slammed into the side of the truck and sent the rider over the larger vehicle.

Debris from the crash was all over the intersection. Officers closed the area down for more than an hour for the investigation.

We're told the rider suffered a head injury and a broken arm. The 21-year-old was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators have not released the names of the men involved.

The 29-year-old driver of the truck was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
