CORPUS CHRISTI - A big scare last night for a woman in Flour Bluff after her 6-year old daughter went missing for several hours. As we reported last night the little girl was found safe.
6-year old Ahlyvia Murphy's mother, Kelly Brown, says she lived through every parents worst nightmare, having your child disappear in a split second. While she's glad her daughter was found and is safe. She told me it's something she says she never wants to experience again.
"I don't think i've ever been so scared in my life," said Brown.
Brown says Little Ahlyvia disappeared around 6 last night. Brown says Ahlyvia was outside on their front porch playing "chef." She says when she went out and found the mess her daughter made, got upset, then went inside to throw stuff away. When she came back out her daughter was gone.
"I felt like I was gonna die. I'm thinking every worse thought you could (expletive).. You could possibly think about where's my child," said Brown.
CCPD, friends, and neighbors went out and searched for Ahlyvia for hours. She was found later that night hiding behind a couch in her home.
"She just said, mom I was scared. I came back in and you weren't inside. That's because I was outside looking for you baby," said Brown.
Brown says at that point Ahlyvia told her she then saw all the cops, got scared, and hid behind the couch where she fell asleep.
"All I can say is that I am so blessed that she's ok," said Brown.
Now Brown says she wants to thank everyone who went out to help look for her daughter.
"The whole community came together to help me... And I am so blessed that everyone was that willing to come out and look for her," said Brown in tears.
Brown says after last night's scare she has set some new rules for 6-year old Ahlyvia. She is no longer allowed to play outside without her mother's supervision.
