CORPUS CHRISTI - A baby girl found locked inside a hot car outside the HEB on Robert is now being treated at Driscoll Children's Hospital. At this point, police don't know if the mother will face charges.
Police questioned the mother and an H-E-B employee who was helping load up the woman's groceries when they found the child in the car.
The child was alone for about 40 minutes as the mother bought two carts full of groceries.
Police tell us the girl is conscious, but lethargic. The mother went with the child to the hospital.
Crime scene investigators are working to recreate what happened and the conditions inside the Suburban at the time.
When the child was found just before 2 p.m., it was 94 degrees in Corpus Christi with a heat index of 105.
