HOUSTON - A Houston mother is facing a child endangerment charge after a family member told authorities the woman's 13-month-old baby was found unattended in a parking lot in July.
The Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday that 23-year-old Talia Nichelle Lumpkin is out on bond following an arrest after her daughter was taken to an emergency room July 5.
The child's aunt told investigators she found the child multiple abrasions and took the girl to the hospital. She said it appeared the girl had been hit by a car.
Court documents say hospital officials didn't believe Lumpkin's explanation that the child had fallen on playground equipment. A doctor reported that the child had three broken ribs.
There was no answer at a phone listing for the mother's name in Houston.
