Mother Arrested In Deaths Of 2 Toddlers

NEW ORLEANS - Police arrested the mother of a 3-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl found dead in a bathtub in their New Orleans home.

In a news release, police say 23-year-old Chelsea Thornton was booked Wednesday night with two counts of first-degree murder.

Investigators say Thornton admitted to shooting her son and drowning her daughter.

The bodies were found just after 5:30 p.m.

Police say the children's grandmother found the bodies in the bathtub.
