CORPUS CHRISTI - A local woman, who had to give her daughter up for adoption 21 years ago, was reunited with her at the airport this morning.
Taya Watford gave birth to her daughter Jackie in Florida in 1992, but the young mother decided it was best to put her up for adoption.
Watford moved to Corpus Christi several years later.
This past February, Jackie, using old photos of Taya, not knowing her mother's married name, tracked her down.
They exchanged messages and decided to meet.
Jackie flew in this morning, and KRIS 6 was there for the tearful reunion.
"My boyfriend and I were on Facebook and it was just kind of like let's just look for fun because I had looked before and never found her," Jackie says.
Both mother and daughter look forward to the next two weeks, the length of Jackie's visit.
"I guess a lot more happy tears, and getting to know each other, and this is the first day of a long long relationship for the both of us," Watford says.
