CORPUS CHRISTI - Corpus Christi Vector Control crews hit the streets Wednesday night to try and get the mosquito population under control.
They've been checking several traps around the city to monitor that population.
Once a trap exceeds 50 mosquitoes, that area will be scheduled for spraying.
Two locations were sprayed Wednesday evening after traps there exceeded the target number of mosquitoes.
Vector Control crews sprayed for mosquitoes in the area of Interstate 37 and the Veteran's Cemetery and the area of Hazel Bazemore park.
Spraying operations were scheduled to run from 8 p.m. to midnight Wednesday.
