CORPUS CHRISTI - More money orders are missing from apartment complexes on the northwest side of town.
The thief is accused of changing the name on the money orders to her's, and then trying to cash them.
Today, we spoke with more victims and learned this has been going on for at least a couple months.
Residents at Navigation Pointe Apartments and Costa Tarragona Apartments have been affected.
We took a look at copies of the some of the doctored money orders, and the name on those orders is the same every time, Assanna Marie Haynes.
Costa Tarragona Apartments told us last week that about 30 people have been affected, and about $30,000 in rent is missing.
We spoke with one of the victims today, who still has to pay the rent, but hasn't recovered her missing funds.
"You're just wondering from day to day, are you going to be able to find the information that you need, or are you going to have to pay that out of your pocket. And who's got an extra $500 that they can just dish out again?" She says.
The apartment complexes are working with residents while police investigate, but ultimately, it's those residents who are losing money, not the complexes.
Police are urging anyone with information on Assanna Haynes to come forward.
