CORPUS CHRISTI - If you're hitting the road for the Christmas holiday, you won't be alone. More than seven million people will be on Texas roads over the next few days. To keep travelers safe, more DPS Troopers will be on the highways beginning Friday night and through the first of January.
The DPS says it's also increasing patrols of rural areas. Drivers are also reminded to be aware of higher speed limits on some Texas highways. As always, there is zero tolerance for drinking and driving on state and city roads.
