WEST - A second group of families that had been kept away from their battered houses since last week's deadly Texas fertilizer plant explosion is being allowed to return to their homes.
Steve Vanek, the mayor pro tem in the Texas town of West, announced Sunday that additional residents were being allowed to return. Residents in cars began lining up Sunday. The first group of residents went back on Saturday. West has about 2,800 residents.
They are being allowed back only under a curfew and strict warnings to not wander beyond their own yards.
Evacuated residents have been anxiously waiting to return and assess what is left of damaged homes after the blast Wednesday night at West Fertilizer Co. that killed 14 and injured 200 more.
